Feast of St Margaret Mary Alacoque - Oct 20 2018
Uzoyazi kanjani Inhliziyo uma ungayihambeli? This was one of those days. Our celebration of our patron saint Margaret Mary Alacoque started with an amazing procession of the holy rosary, guided by Fr Teboho Matseke. The beauty of the dignified honoring of our Lady by members in blue and red was something to behold.
This was followed by the history of our saint told by a "warrior" of the Sacred Heart. Ugogo wemakwayikwayi hayi amapumps reminded us of the wealth we have in our own. Mam Nkuna captured the membership with her experience.... since joining on 4 July 1954..... of the Heart we serve.
Fr Lawrence Mduduzi Ndlovu followed this with how proud we should be as catholics. Yes njengamaKhatholika"Kha"....do you know what we are about? Is our relationship with the Eucharist as it should be! This is the ultimate source and "summit" of our faith.....not only as catholics but more so as devotees of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
After a beautuful sunny morning of this....we were further blessed by soft patter of rain. As we were still appreciating this, Fr Nkosinathi Nkabinde fired a heated homily on whether siyalazi kahle loluthando lwaleNhliziyo? Uzolifakaza kanjani uma ungalazi? This Love is only made visible by our deeds. Are you a reflection and evidence of this love? Until we know the breadth, height, length of this love we will never experience the cleansing properties... sifane noXhamu.
In closing Fr Ndlovu thanked the hospality of Fr Matthews and st Lambert, his parish. He commended on the beauty of the sacristy...a clear sign and practice that the things of God were deserving of the best. He challenged us as the Sacred heart on whether we gave Him the same honour in our own parishes. He also encouraged us to extend the devotion to all our loved ones...this was not exclusive to the sodality.
Are we up to the challenge maNhliziyo!!!! Yes we can!! Sesithunyiwe ke!
